I love - Eat Pray Love

Pride for Indonesia, especially Bali, because some time ago there was a superstar Hollywood filming a movie in Bali. In this extraordinary film, titled Eat, Pray, Love was filmed in the area of Ubud. The film is adapted from a novel by a true story the main characternamed Elizabeth Gilbert, played by Julia Roberts. Once completedpredictable, Elizabeth returned to California. These predictionsturned out right. All things in life Elizabeth according to what people say Bali. Then Elizabeth came back to Bali to meet the Astrologer.

Movie Review :

For most people, Elizabeth Gilbert (Julia Roberts) is a person who has been fortunate to have everything in life. She had a husband, a house, and especially of that, he had a good career. Unfortunately, what is visible from the outside is not necessarily the same as what is felt within.

Failed to build dream home and had to be divorced from her husband to make Elizabeth feel disoriented. Slowly but surely he began to feel that so far he has strayed. He no longer knew what he wanted in life. At the nadir point is Elizabeth and then make a big decision. He wanted to travel around the world to seek his identity is lost.

In this journey, Elizabeth finds the true meaning of pleasure with eating in Italy. He also discovered the power of prayer during a visit to India and finally, unwittingly, he found peace in the true love she has received while he was in Bali. From this trip Elizabeth also realizes that there are actually many ways to free yourself and see the world.

When Elizabeth Gilbert posted a long trip to three countries, once the book was finished a book that sold well. Even books that are also reportedly called EAT, PRAY, LOVE this was perched in the ranks of the New York Times Best Sellers for 150 weeks. You can imagine how successful this book and of course, as usual, this success entice Hollywood to make adaptations.

Translating a novel into a visual form is always having problems. There must be a spirit that can not be transferred to other media and the same case is also likely experienced by this book. Ryan Murphy, the director, seems also not succeeded in capturing the soul of the book is as thick as 352 pages. At the very least, Elizabeth Gilbert's journey in this film was nothing more than just the usual tourist trip, when they should be on this journey is a quest.

As a result, EAT, PRAY, LOVE it so a record of travel along the nearly two and a half hours. Problem visually there was no problem. The three countries beginning with the letter 'I' this alone is promising a view that would liberate the eye of the monopoly view of the United States that always we watch the film. Italy, India, and of course Bali, Indonesia, represented by both visually captured. Unfortunately, the performers in this film that seemed to be drowned by it.

Actress Julia Roberts is not new. He was poor across the world of film for a long time but it seems the problem has appeared since I was in the form of the manuscript. As a result, no matter how good the game Julia, who feels it is not the figure of Elizabeth Gilbert who is in the 'search'. Chemistry between Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem was not formed properly as they should. But at least, EAT, PRAY, LOVE this has helped in promoting Indonesian tourism, especially on the island of Bali.
